Sometimes you feel like a nut

And sometimes you don't, apparently.

I've been running subjects through a little pre-dissertation experiment this past week.  Just a quick little study that undergraduate students have been coming into the lab to complete for me.  Sitting on the table, all week, has been The Cabbage out of which I have invited all to take a treat after they're finished, if they so desire.

Yesterday, I noted the state of The Cabbage.
(Yes, that is a melamine Cabbage bowl. Hands down the best thing I've ever found at a Value Village.)

Apparently, no one has any love for the Almond Joy anymore.

This is something I cannot understand.  Almond Joys are delicious!  Coconutty, chocolately, almondy, YUM.  Because I know you're dying to know, the Almond Joys were up against Reese's peanut butter cups, Kit kat bars, and plain ol' hershey's chocolate in this particular smorgasboard.  Now, Reese's peanut butter cups are clearly the heavyweight in this mix, but Almond Joys lost to Kit Kat bars?  And Hershey's milk chocolate bars???

Granted, most of these students were young undergraduates who possibly have not honed an affinity for coconut.  While Almond Joys are not at the top of my favorite sweet treat list (that honor goes to Twix, I feel), it is definitely in the top five.

What about you?  Which funsize treat is at the top of your list?  Is there anyone besides me who enjoys the coconutty goodness of Almond Joys anymore???

That's a shocker. Almond Joys should have been the second to go. It's hard to beat a Reese for the young crowd, but Kit Kat? No way.

By the way. Would you please send me your address? I need to send you a surprise that's red and tastes like a strawberry . . . that is dried :)

Almond Joy wouldn't be left around here. I know this for a fact because two whole bags of them recently disappeared out of my closet. I was stumped, as I thought I was the only one who loved them. Not so, as evidenced by the 34 empty wrappers found neatly tucked into Kaleb's dresser drawers. Can a three-year-old OD on coconut? I'll let you know...

my all time favorite. I can eat like 20 of them in one sitting...on a bad day of course.

I can't believe plain Hershey's beat AJ! That's just crazy talk. I LOVE Almond Joys! The only thing better in the world? Bounty bars... they are just an Almond Joy without the Almond, but still with milk choco, and the ratio of choco to coconut is much better. Amazing!
I love social experiments like this... very well done.

haha, love it. I actually do put almond joys at the top of my treat list. In fact, they are only second to mounds. :) (I'm a dark chocolate girl)

By the way, loved bumping into you at the Lowe's, sorry I was such a scatterbrain, I swear over half of my brain is always with my kids, and they were home that night. ;)

Amen,

Twix at the top, but an almond joy should NEVER take sloppy seconds to a plain Hershey bar. Those are only eaten on s'mores... I thought.

If those Almond Joys would have been at my house, they would have been gone (as would the reese's and kit kats leaving the plain milk chocolate Hershey's)
